Description
Candidates should have 4-6 years of experience in the millwright field or in a related area.   Individuals should be knowledgeable of advanced concepts, practices, and procedures within the millwright field, and they are able to perform all basic job tasks described for an Advanced Millwright.   These individuals must undergo Industrial Mechanical’s Foremen Training, to be familiar with all standard operating procedures and policies within the company.   They should also have a strong understanding of their specific customers’ procedures and policies.   Generally Millwright Foremen are assigned to service one to two main customers.
 
They rely heavily on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks, and they work under limited supervision.   These individuals may be required to lead and direct the work of others. They are required to assist with maintaining tools and equipment, and they will perform various cleanup and housekeeping activities. They are to observe and follow all safety rules and procedures set forth by Industrial Mechanical, Inc. and OSHA. These employees report to a General Foreman or Project Manager.
 
Tasks that Millwright Foremen are required to perform include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Successfully complete Industrial Mechanical, Inc.’s Foreman training, so that they understand and consistently apply internal policies and procedures.
  • Apply the company’s corrective action policy where applicable.
  • Champion and provide leadership that result in a safe, positive, and respectful work culture.
  • Set and maintain work standards and outline behavioral expectations to ensure crew morale and productivity.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in dismantling, moving, assembling, and installing industrial machinery to ensure work is performed safely, correctly, and timely.
  • Ability to serve as a liaison between customers, vendors, project managers, and other employees regarding current and future projects.
  • Strong communication skills, especially with respect to directing others.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate, including speak, hear, and understand, English.
  • Inspects quality of all work to ensure company standards and project specifications are met.
  • Assists workers in their performance of assigned duties.
  • Analyze and resolve work related problems.
  • Reviews materials received at jobsite to ensure it is correct and not defective.
  • Checks equipment to ensure proper working conditions.
  • Maintains time and track production.
  • Interprets and enforces company policies and safety policy per company and customer policy. 
  • Ability to communicate with Project Managers and General Foremen about establishing and adjusting work sequences to meet schedules, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple employees and projects at once.  
  • Participates and monitors Monday morning Tool Box safety meetings.
  • Participates in safety/incident investigations and reviews.
  • Ensure that all initial safety and hazard assessments (JHA’s and Worksite Safety Inspections) required by Industrial Mechanical, Inc. and our customers are completed before work begins.
  • Ensure that all Industrial Mechanical, Inc. and customer permits have been obtained before work begins.
  • Provide mentoring to subordinate employees.
  • Perform assessments of competency and capabilities of subordinate employees; evaluating crew capability, training, coaching, to ensure that the crew meets required levels of quality.
